OpenAI has not yet officially released GPT-5, but there are strong indications that it is in development, with a potential release expected by late 2024 or early 2025.

 Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO, has hinted at significant advancements over GPT-4, including enhanced multimodal capabilities (handling not just text, but also images, audio, and possibly video) and improvements in reasoning and decision-making abilities. GPT-5 is also expected to support more autonomous AI agents capable of executing tasks without human oversight, making it a more powerful tool for real-world applications.

OpenAI has been focusing on refining the model’s efficiency and accuracy, with some insiders already getting a sneak peek. Altman has described GPT-5 as a “material leap” over GPT-4, similar to the jump from GPT-3 to GPT-4.
