IPSOS article: Romanians and artificial intelligence

Conclusions of the IPSOS study carried out a month ago on a sample of 31 countries and more than 20,000 respondents on the relationship of the population with artificial intelligence (AI) have been published. It is interesting that Romania was included among the countries participating in the survey, which allowed the profile of Romanians’ relationship with AI.

The results of the study reveal that Romanians believe that they understand well what artificial intelligence is, with an impressive weight compared to the other responding nations, and that they know which products and services use artificial intelligence, half of the respondents being uneasy about artificial intelligence, and 62% declaring themselves excited of the possibilities opened by it.

Romanians trust artificial intelligence, significantly above the global average, they trust companies that use artificial intelligence as much as other companies, and they trust companies that use artificial intelligence to protect their personal data.

Romanians share the belief that products and services based on artificial intelligence will significantly change their daily lives in the next 3-5 years, that it will change the way they do their current work and that AI will replace their current jobs activity. Romania, by study participants, ranks below or around the global average for all possible benefits and possibilities of using artificial intelligence, which shows that there are, at least for the moment, no expectations of a massive influence of AI on aspects important aspects of people’s private lives.
